Ko Olina Resort & Marina

Situated on the sunny West coast of Oahu are seven crescent shaped sandy beaches located at the Ko Olina Resort & Marina. Enjoy miles of beautiful shoreline and shady picnic areas beneath palm trees complete with sweeping views of the Waianae mountain range.

Yokohama Bay

One of the gentlest places on the island during the summer months, it can be choppy when the surf is up. 'Big waves = dangerous' is a simple rule for the visitor, but this is a beautiful spot just about as far as you can get from the cares of civilization. It butts up against the 850 acre Kaena Point Park, so there's a lot of open space and you get to see the island pretty much as the original Polynesians found it 900 years ago.

West Shore Famous Sites

Makaha Beach Park

Makaha Beach Park is named for the area which surrounds it. An infamous band of bandits living deep in the valley terrorized the area in years long past. Today Makaha's claim to fame is its international renown as a superb site for surf boarding.

Poka'i Bay Beach Park

Poka`i Bay and the immediate area nearby was named after a legendary Hawaiian high chief. Poka`i reputedly transported the first coconut palm tree in the great migration from Kahiki to Hawai`i. This lovely ocean area and beach is well protected, even during the Winter high surf. Its coral reef slopes very gradually, not suddenly like other reef in the area. It is thus an excellent swimming area year round. Its sandy beach is stable even during the times of heavy seasonal beach erosion in the Fall and Winter.
