Naimbag nga bigat (kadakayo amin). – Good morning (to all of you).
Naimbag nga aldaw. – Good afternoon.
Naimbag nga rabii. – Good evening.
Makasao ka ti Ilokano? – Can you speak Ilocano?
Makataros ka ti Ilokano? – Can you understand Ilocano?
Bassit laeng. – Just a little.
Pangngaasi, tulongan-ak man. – Please, help me.
Ana kadi ti maitulong ko/mi kenka (pronounced ‘kengka’)? – What can I/we help you with?
Anya ti nagan mo? – What is your name?
Siak ni David – I am David.
Sinu deta nga kaduam? – Who is that you are with?
Isu ti baket ko. – She is my wife.
Isu ti lakay ko. – He is my husband.
Isu ni Mary. – She is Mary.
Isu ni John. – He is John.
Naggapuam? (if the question is addressed to just one person) / Naggapuan yo? (if the question is addressed to 2 or more persons) – Where are you from? Or: Where have you been?
Naggapu-ak dyay ili. – I’ve been to town.
Naggapukam dyay California. – We are from California.
Anya ti pinnakapan yo ditoy? – What is your purpose for coming here?
Napan kam ‘dtoy tapnon agpasyar kam ditoy napintas a probinsya yo. – We came here to explore your beautiful province.
Mabalin ti agsaludsod? – Can I ask some questions?
Iyan ti pagluganan mi nga jeep nga agpadaya ‘dyay Sarrat? – Where can we wait for the jeepney that goes eastward to Sarrat?
Agpa-kas dyay kayo. – You go there.
Labasan yo ti dakkel nga balay/simbaan. – You will pass by a big house/church.
Papanam? (addressed to 1 person) / Papanan yo? (addressed to 2 or more persons) - Where are you going?
Mapa-amianan kami ‘dyay Pagudpud. – We’re going north to Pagudpud.
Agpa-abagatan kayo ‘dyay maikadua nga kalye. – Go south on the second street.
Adda ti jeep yo. – There is your jeepney.
Agyaman-ak – Thank you.
Dios ti agngina – God bless you.
