Isis Bungalows Beach Resort is a resort hotel in Panglao Island, Bohol Province in Central Philippines. The resort, which opened in 2005, is under Swiss supervision and boasts of affordable but world-class room accommodations and a spacious restaurant with a panoramic view of the sea.

Location

Isis Bungalows Beach Resort is located right in the middle of Alona Beach, a one-kilometer stretch of soft white sand considered to be the best beach in Panglao Island. Panglao Island is reachable by a bridge from the main island of Bohol.

Alona Beach is also a haven for divers because of the Alona Beach Sanctuary, a shallow dive spot that is home to anemones and multicolored corals. It is only a five-minute boat ride away from the beach area.

How to get to Isis Bungalows Beach Resort
Bohol is accessible by air, land and sea transport. The Tagbilaran City Airport is being serviced daily by Cebu Pacific Airlines and Philippines Airlines (1 flight a day each, around 100 minutes and about 45 minutes).

The Tagbilaran City Port, meanwhile is being serviced daily by at least 12 shipping companies that have boats that sail to and from different areas in the country. There are fast boats leaving Cebu every 60-90 minutes connecting the 2 islands like, Weesam Express, SuperCat or OceanJet.

Isis Bungalows Beach Resort in Alona Beach can be reached by in about 20 minutes by car, taxi or tricycle ride from Tagbilaran City.

Rooms

Isis Bungalows has 8 air-conditioned bungalows of different capacities and 4 air-conditioned rooms, each with its own terrace and a view of the sea.

All accommodations are equipped with modern amenities such as hot and cold water in the bathrooms, free wireless internet and safe deposit boxes at the reception. Voltage: 220 V.

Cable television is available in the bungalows and is optional in the rooms. Mini bars are also optional in the rooms as well as in the small and middle-sized bungalows.

The 4 air-conditioned rooms can accommodate up to 2 persons each.

Standard bungalows: Perfect for vacationing couples, the 4 standard bungalows each have a queen-size bed.

Deluxe bungalows: The 2 deluxe bungalows can each accommodate a family of three.

Family bungalows: The 2 family bungalows can each accommodate a family of 4. Bungalow 8, one of the family bungalows, has two terraces, one of which is very private, ideal for those who want privacy in getting that perfect tan!

The restaurant has a covered area, as well as a large terrace facing the sea for those who want to dine al fresco.

A choice of American, Continental, Filipino cuisines are available for breakfast. European and Filipino dishes are served for lunch and dinner. Thai, Chinese and Mongolian dishes are also served upon order. Guests may also choose to order à la carte.

• Scuba Diving - Alona Beach is a popular diving area because of the Alona Beach Sanctuary, which is five minutes away from the beach. There are also other popular dive spots that are very near Alona that can be easily reached by boat. The dive sites here are teeming with anemones, multicolored corals, different kinds of fish, nudibranchs and even sharks and barracudas if you’re lucky.
Isis Bungalows does not have its own dive center but there are at least 10 dive centers that are only a walking distance from the resort. At very competitive prices, one can get a PADI in English or other language.
Professional divers and even those who are just starting out to explore the sea will surely enjoy the services of the different dive centers surrounding Isis Bungalows.

• Balicasag Island - Balicasag is a small island south of Panglao and is a favorite among divers primarily because of three famous dive sites that surround the island, Black Forest, the Balicasag Marine Sanctuary and Divers Haven.
Black Forest is a slight slope with black coral bushes teeming with small fishes, a large school of mackerels and barracudas. The Balicasag Marine Sanctuary is a steep wall located on the western side of the island and is teeming with schools of jackfish while Divers Haven is a steep wall with drift dives, has beautiful corals and a cathedral-like cave.
• Chocolate Hills - Considered the most famous tourist attraction in Bohol, the Chocolate Hills is a must-see for visitors to the province. The hills, which look like giant mole hills, are unusual geological formations scattered throughout the municipalities of Carmen, Sagbayan and Batuan. There are a total of 1,268 hills, which, according to a theory, are the weathered formations of a kind of marine limestone on top of an impermeable layer of clay.
There are two areas where tourists can get a view of the hills and these are at the Chocolate Hills Complex in Carmen town, and at the Sagbayan Peak.
• Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary - The Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary is an approximately 134-hectare land that has been set aside as a protected area for the Philippine Tarsier. Tarsiers are small and only weigh about 113 to 142 grams. They have big eyes and can rotate their heads to almost 180 degrees.
The tarsier trail starts at the municipality of Corella and ends at the Loboc River.
• Pamilacan island - Pamilacan Island lies at the heart of the Bohol Sea and is a 45-minute pump boat ride from Alona Beach. The sea around the island is frequented by whales and dolphins. The island is considered a jump off to an area where at least seven species of marine mammals like sperm whales have been sighted.
• Waterfalls - The Mag-aso Falls is in Antiquera, 20 km from Tagbilaran. The fall drops 10 m with lush vegetation around it. The Tontonlac Falls in Loboc fall about 15 m in two stages at the base of a tropical forest valley. A viewing area has been built for visitors. More popular for bathing is the Badian Spring in Valencia where a waterfall, a pool and changing facilities are available.
• Hinagdanan Cave - Hinagdanan Cave is the most popular and easy to reach among the different caves in Bohol province. Classified as a karst cave, it is located in the town of Dauis in Panglao Island. The cave boasts of a large number of stalactites and stalagmites and leads to an underground pool where visitors can take a dip.

• A wash down or decrease in the original number of rooms/persons reserved/booked shall, to the extent of the decrease in the number of rooms/persons, be considered a cancellation and shall be subject to cancellation charges.
• Any and all cancellations/wash downs must be done through email to bookings@travelmart.net. Any and all wash downs/cancellations on the phone will not be honored.
• If guest fails to show up on check-in/tour day without prior notice to TravelMart, the No-show charges shall be applied.
• One-night rate as Cancellation or No-Show charge includes room charges, meals, tours and other arrangements.
• There shall be no refund for shortened stays including rooms checked-in and checked-out on the same day.
• Check-in time is 1:30 pm. Check-out time is 12 noon. The resort can not guarantee for ready rooms for early arrivals. Request for late check-out will be subject to room availability on departure day.
